Since TEC has now been dis-invited from various committees of the Anglican Communion - excluded from the club, as it were - we should no longer pay any dues. Let's be clear about this, folks - giving money to those who abuse you is pathological e.g. Log Cabin Republicans.
So, how do we go about it?
Identify all foreign direct ministries, make sure nobody is siphoning funds for nefarious purposes, then continue to fund them. However, ANY monies going to Lambeth Palace and Communion committees & meetings should be stopped immediately.
Indeed, we can call it "gracious restraint" - restraining revenues to punitive leaders & bodies, while graciously supporting care for people in need, in other Provinces. Hell, with the money we'd save by cutting off Rowan & the schismatics, we could even INCREASE our ministry - talk about grace!
Jesus had endless love for the poor and marginalized, but arguably little tolerance for bureaucracies; it's high time we follow His lead.
